Crowcon Gas Detectors

Crowcon is a British manufacturer of portable and fixed gas detection, based in Oxfordshire. 7 Solutions is a Crowcon distributor and Crowcon service centre: we supply the range, set instruments up to your alarm levels, and service and calibrate them in our own workshop.

Crowcon portable gas detectors

  • T4 and T4x: 4-gas monitors for LEL, O2, H2S and CO, widely used for confined space entry and utilities. Crowcon T4x

  • Gas-Pro: multigas monitor for up to five gases, with pumped versions for pre-entry testing. Variants include the Gas-Pro IR, Gas-Pro PID for VOCs and Gas-Pro TK for tank and purging work.

  • Gasman: rugged single gas monitor, available for a wide choice of toxic and flammable gases. Crowcon Gasman

  • Clip SGD: maintenance-free disposable single gas detector for H2S, CO or O2. Crowcon Clip SGD

  • Tetra 3: established 4-gas monitor still used by many fleets. Crowcon Tetra 3

Crowcon fixed gas detection

For plant rooms, process areas and enclosed spaces we supply Crowcon fixed detectors and control panels to your specification, including Xgard, Xgard Bright and Xgard IQ transmitters, IRmax infrared flammable gas detectors, and Gasmaster and Vortex control panels. We also service and calibrate installed Crowcon systems. See our fixed gas detection guide.

Choosing a Crowcon monitor

  • One known toxic hazard, such as H2S at a pumping station: a Gasman or Clip SGD.

  • Confined space entry: a pumped T4x, sampling before entry and worn while inside.

  • Extra gases such as SO2, NO2, Cl2 or VOCs: a Gas-Pro configured to your risk assessment.

  • A permanent risk in one place: fixed Xgard or IRmax detectors with a control panel.

Check the gases on your site against our EH40 exposure limits reference before choosing sensors and alarm levels.

Crowcon service and calibration

As a Crowcon service centre we bump test, calibrate, replace sensors and repair Crowcon portables, and service fixed systems on site. Calibration is charged at our standard rates by instrument type, the same for every brand: single gas monitors £40, 4-gas monitors £50, multigas monitors £90 and PIDs £140 (excl. VAT). You receive a traceable certificate with every calibration. Book through our calibration and service page.

Hire before you buy

For shutdowns, short projects or trialling a model, hire a calibrated monitor from £35 a week for single gas, £45 for 4-gas and £85 for multigas. Browse the full Crowcon range.

Talk to our engineers on 01489 326031 or email sales@7solutions.co.uk. We supply, hire, calibrate and train across the UK, Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4pm.
