XGARD
Crowcon Xgard is a comprehensive range of fixed gas detectors for flammable gas, toxic gas and oxygen, with three sensor types to choose from.
It is used worldwide in water treatment, oil and gas, power, research and manufacturing installations.
Typical uses: plant rooms, process areas, laboratories and treatment works where gas risk is permanent.
Alarm set points should follow your risk assessment, site standard and the detector's capability, using the UK workplace exposure limits in HSE EH40 as a reference; flammable gas alarms are typically set at 10% and 20% LEL. We can help you choose sensors and set points for your site.
We supply fixed detection to your specification or your consultant's design, and our engineers service and calibrate installed systems on site, typically every six or twelve months. Call 01489 326031 for advice or a quote.

- Can accommodate M20 or 1/2″ NPT cable glands, suiting all site requirements
- High temperature models are available for hot environments (up to 150°c)
- Accessories are available for duct mounting and sampling applications, as well as remote gassing
WIDE RANGE OF SENSORS
- Poison resistant pellistors provide all flammable detection needs, including hydrocarbons, hydrogen, ammonia, jet fuel, leaded petrol and vapours containing halogens
- Electrochemical sensors are used to detect a vast range of toxic gases and oxygen
- Thermal conductivity sensors are available to monitor % volume concentrations of gases
RUGGED & RELIABLE
- Manufactured from either glass reinforced nylon, highly durable aluminium with a tough polyester coating, or 316 stainless steel for ultimate corrosion resistance
- Spray deflectors and weatherproof caps are available, designed for use in areas subject to regular wash-downs, or offshore environments
- All models have been validated to the functional safety standard IEC 61508 (SIL 1 to SIL 3)
